Thanks to all who have served Kondanani UK

Kondanani UK has been a registered British charity since 2005 “Providing food, homing, education for the well being of orphans and relief to parents unable to look after their families due to economic pressures.” We also carry out other charitable partnerships in keeping with our governing document.

Annie Chikhwaza, founder of Kondanani Children’s Village, is our longest-serving trustee. She resigned in 2021 and retired from KCV in 2025. 

Kondanani UK was initially run by Richard Pearson for eight years. New trustees joined in 2013 following the launch of Annie Chikhwaza’s biography. These include Al Gibson who is the current chairperson. Jane Langham and Cora Jooste also joined in 2013 and both served two years.

Annie Horowitz, Andy and Penny Curwell became directors in 2015 and Jane and Grant Gebbie joined in 2018. Andy and Penny worked at Kondanani Malawi for extended periods  before resigning in 2018 and 2021 respectively.

Jane and Grant have extended the reach of Kondanani UK to Scotland. They visited the Children’s Village in April 2023 and were instrumental in updating KCV’s safeguarding policies. Jane resigned in June 2023.

Tim Davies joined in 2023 and is our current treasurer.

Sadly Anni Horowitz passed away in June 2026. We are grateful for her 10 years of faithfully supporting Konanani Children’s Village.

We appreciate all who serve or have served at Kondanani UK and what they have achieved to provide homes, education, medical and dental care to children in Africa.
