Scotland Malawi Partnership recognises Kondanani

It’s encouraging that Jane Gebbie’s efforts to promote Kondanani have been recognised by the Scotland Malawi Partnership (SMP). Jane, who is the secretary of Kondanani UK received the SMP Member award from Princess Anne at a ceremony in Edinburgh on 5th September 2019.

HRH, The Princess Royal presents a Scottish Malawi Partnership Award to Jane Gebbie.

The SMP’s Awards Programme aims to help members tell their story, celebrate especially strong links between Scotland and Malawi and further raise public awareness and support for the bilateral relationship.

Kondanani Children’s Village is located near to the city of Blantyre in Malawi which is named after David Livingstone’s birthplace in Scotland. The famous British missionary explorer has left a lasting legacy in Malawi which Annie Chikhwaza and many others continue to run with today.

The award follows Kondanani UK moving into Scotland with the appointment of Grant and Jane Gebbie as trustees in 2018. Congratulations Jane and thank you and Grant for all you do for Kondanani UK.
